Supposedly, this happened accidentally while burning a bunch of other religious material with "extremist inscriptions" on them, but it does lead to this obvious--and punny--admonition.

Back in April of '07, John McCain was about possibly military action against Iran if elected president. In response, he jokingly sang the refrain to the song "Barbara Ann" (most famously covered by the Beach Boys in 1965), altering the lyrics to "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran..."
Why do I bring this up? Because I just did something similar here:

In this case, the song being parodied is The Four Seasons' 1963 hit "Walk Like a Man". In recent weeks, so many people have urged Israel not to preemptively attack Iran that I decided to commemorate a sampling of them in a chorus line. (Standing from left to right are UK Foreign Secretary William Hague, US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey, Japanese prime minister Yoshihiko Noda, and Saudi diplomat Turki Al-Faisal.)

Fact 1: Portal the video game and its sequel, Portal 2, base their gameplay around creating linked portals between two surfaces.
Fact 2: Presto, a short animated film, stars a bunny rabbit named Alec who is part of a magician's act involving linked portals between two hats.
So when you combine the peanut butteriness of Valve and the choclatitude of Pixar, what do you get?

Over the past few days, terror attacks have been carried out against Israeli diplomats in India and Georgia, with another one foiled in Thailand. The government's pointing fingers at Iran, primarily because the perpetrators caught in Bangkok are all Iranian, which sounds pretty convincing to me. However, all the damage done has been limited to injuring a diplomat's wife and ruining a car (in New Delhi). Explosives were found near the embassy in Tbilisi and neutralized before they could go off, and the Bangkok terrorists spectacularly bungled their operation before even carrying out their plan, with one accidentally blowing his own legs off. It's certainly a fall from grace for Iran, whose previous contributions to the field of international terrorism include the 1992 Buenos Aires embassy attack and the 1994 AMIA bombing.

Yes, today some butthurt troll decided that this cartoon deserved the stunning rejoinder of (drumroll) "This is pitiful". Anonymously, of course. Regrettably for him/her, however, instead of feeling insulted, my mind immediately jumped to one of the many, many amazing songs of Mr. "Weird" Al Yankovic, so that's a FAIL on their part.
(Okay, so maybe I am a bit bitter. Here's a screenshot of the details of said troll's activity on the blog, courtesy of Sitemeter. Any hackers reading this are cordially invited to somehow try and use this info to find 'em and mess with 'em to their hearts' content.)

Ladies and germs, welcome to the case of the amazing disappearing nameplate! Yeah, I will readily admit that this is not one of my best cartoons, continuity-wise, layout-wise or perpective-wise. In fact, it's probably one of the very worst. Still, I believe the messaged it conveys is pointed (and humorous) enough. (For those who can't tell, those two blokes in the portraits are Josef Stalin and Mao Tse-tung.) Bonus fact: the look of American ambassador Susan Rice was directly based on the photo accompanying yesterday's newspaper article in which she criticized the veto against the UNSC resolution calling for Syria's Bashar Assad to step down (albeit not quite in the same words), a first in my political cartooning career.

Yes, Israel's parliamentarians indeed convened to vote themselves a pay raise. Even though they have a semi-excuse about how the old pay rate was based on flawed economics or something like that, there is absolutely no way this could possibly go down well with the public at large with local and world economy in such a worrying state.
