When Syrian citizens infiltrated the Israeli border at Majdal Shams on Naqba Day and ran into resistance from the IDF, Bashar Assad predictably took the opportunity to complain about this from his moral low ground.
It's a nice, simple cartoon, and while drawing it I realized that I may in fact have been subconsciously influenced by a similar, unpublished cartoon I drew about half a year ago:
This was drawn soon after the Mavi Marmara incident, when the PKK carried out some terror attacks in Turkey. Turkish president Recep Erdogan, who had previously taken Israel to task for butchering some murderous IHH terrorists on board the flotilla, immediately proclaimed that "Turkey will not surender to this language of violence." The hypocrisy of the quote caught my eye, and this cartoon was the result.
